💰 Remittances (2023): $90.8 billion 

💰 Official Development Assistance/Aid (2024): $73.6 billion

Africa generates 6.5x more from its own tax revenues than it receives in aid.

Remittances from the diaspora exceed aid. Foreign investment exceeds aid. And aid is less than 10% of the combined revenue from these four sources.

So when someone talks about "Africa's aid dependency," show them this chart.

The real conversation should be about resource mobilization, tax collection efficiency, and creating investment-friendly environments, not waiting for aid.
